Sexing Parakeets - How to Tell if Your Parakeet is a Male or Female

While many types of birds do not have visual differences between males and females, sexing parakeets is easy. The cere, which is the part of the bird's face directly above his beak, will be blue on male parakeets and brown on females. Immature male parakeets may have a pinkish or tan cere, which will change color when they mature.
